'SNL' recap: Sofia Vergara does not mind if you check her out -Sofia Vergara’s serious accent and notable curves highlighted her hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live.”
The “Modern Family” actress, who’s Colombian, summed up the evening throughout her monologue, saying, “Forgive me if you don’t understand what I say – and I’ll forgive you for viewing my chest the entire night.”

“This country welcomed me with open arms and pulled-down pants,” she said.

And then there was a mock Pantene industrial starring Vergara and Penelope Cruz (Kate McKinnon, the show’s initial open lesbian solid member on her debut show). The skit saw Vergara saying fun, straightforward words – aloe, hair, Pantene – whereas Cruz is forced to recite troublesome chemical compounds, like ‘Arteriovenous Plexus.’
“SNL” closed with Sofia serving as an in-arena announcer at the “Hunger Games,” inadvertently dropping her interview subjects and watching them perish.
“Hunger Games!” she screams. Yes, hunger games indeed.
